The Jewish Federation of Annapolis & the Chesapeake (JFedA–C) is proud to partner with the Anne Arundel County Hate Crimes Prevention Program (HCPP), under the County’s Office of Equity & Human Rights (OEHR), to present “In Our Own Voices: Antisemitism Out in the Open, Again — A Community-Wide Response to Hate,” an online forum taking place Monday, November 10, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. EST.
This event will be the third session of the “In Our Own Voices” Hate Bias Forum Webinar Series, part of the County’s expanded “Uncover Hate” initiative. This program is supported by a $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to bolster community-based hate-crime prevention in Anne Arundel County. Anne Arundel County Government
“Antisemitism has been rising at an alarming rate — both nationally and here in Maryland,” said J. D. “Jody” Goldsmith, President and Co-founder of JFedA–C. “This forum empowers all of our neighbors with facts, strategy, and solidarity so that hate has no room to hide.”
In statewide data, Maryland ranked fifth per capita for antisemitic incidents in 2023, with 356 reported cases, representing a 227% increase from 2022. In the 2023 State of Maryland Hate Bias Report, religious-based incidents tripled from 2022 to 2023, and Jews constituted 28% of all victims, despite comprising only about 4% of the state’s population.
“Antisemitism isn’t just a Jewish problem — it’s a community problem,” said Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, Secretary and Co-founder of JFedA–C. “We’re bringing everyone together — Jewish and non-Jewish alike — to learn, speak out, and act united against hate in all its forms.”
Key Presenters (Nov 10 Session):

- Rabbi Steve Weisman, Temple Solel (Bowie)
